General Stream
Information
The East Walker has some
of the largest wild trout in a stream in California. The stretch
most fly fishers concentrate on is from Bridgeport Reservoir downstream
to the Nevada Boarder and then again over in Nevada about 2 miles
downstream to the famous Rosaschi Ranch water. The ranch waters
were donated to the state of Nevada in 1995 and are now catch and
release/barbless trophy fishing open year round. The river is usually
high early season so the best fishing is later in the summer and
especially the Fall. Many fish this river with big streamers but
it has all kinds of diverse food in it for trout. There are lots
of aquatic insects as well as terrestrials. There are lost of small
forage fish and crayfish too. It's a big fish stream.
