Spring
is best with April, May and June all being pretty good.
Fall can be good too; September/October.

Pond Info
Located at 2989 Cambridge
Road, Cameron Park, the Cameron Park Pond facility offers four tennis
courts, a volleyball court, playground, walking/jogging trail around
the lake, fishing, boat rentals, paved parking, swim area, and grassy
picnic areas.
A fee of $2.00 per CSD
resident or $4.00 per non-resident is charged at the gate; however,
children six-years old and younger are free of charge, and seniors
55 and older (resident or non-resident) are charged $1 per person.
** The lake was dredged
deeper and underwater structure was added a few years then it was
restocked with bass and panfish. It is ‘catch and release’ fishing
and you are allowed to use artificial lures and flies only which
is good because many other local public ponds are actually fished
out by the general public.
The park is open 7am till
dusk year round.
Season: April/May/June
is normally some of the best months for good fishing here. October
can be another top time.

Tackle
Rods:
Fly rods from # 3 to # 8 line size will work depending on the size
of your bass flies you are using. Longer 9’ fly rod will be best
for this open water and for fly fishing from a float tube, pontoon
boat, kayak, canoe or small car-top boat.
Lines:
We use mostly weight forward floating lines that are one or two
sizes large than normal for our fly rods.
Leaders:
You can use a 7’6” 0x to 3x leader depending on the size bass bugs
you are throwing.
Flies: For
top water in the late afternoon and evenings after the sun is off
the water you can use hair bugs, poppers or large dry flies. Black
or Frog bass patterns are good. Dahlberg Divers or the Umpqua Swimming
Frog are good too. Any larger wooly buggers or leeches will work
under water.

Access
They have good parking
inside the park. You can walk around the entire lake and fish from
the bank but fishing from a float tube, pontoon boats, kayaks, canoes
or small car-top boat will be a great advantage.
No gas motors are allowed.
Your friends and family
can picnic and barbeque while watching you fish.
